Life coaching is a contemporary and effective approach to helping a person's direction and development, and personal fulfillment or life change more generally.
In recent years a big industry has grown under the heading of 'life coaching'. For this reason the term 'life coaching' appears widely in marketing and publicity, but this is not the manner in which we have adopted this term in our services.
For people with head injuries............
Life coaching is all about YOU and what you wish to achieve in your life. Life Coaching reminds you of your strengths, helps you to feel better about yourself and gives you valuable feedback on your thoughts and behaviour to support you in moving forward. The focus is on positive change: stating this is where I am now, but what do I want next?
Life Coaching for people with a head injury........
aims to draw out a person's potential rather than insist on aims and knowledge that come from outside agencies.
helps people by developing them rather than imposing on them.
helps people through reflection rather than direction.
is a form of change facilitation - at Stavian we enable people, rather than train people.
is proactive and flexible - it allows for personal transition on an individual basis.
makes no assumptions - it's not judgmental, nor is it prescriptive or instructional.
means empathy is central to the process.
seeks to help people understand themselves.
covers virtually every aspect of personal development that an individual might aspire to - career direction, life skills, personal fulfilment, life-balance, and the aquisition (or re-acquisition) of specific skills or knowledge.
requires exceptionally specialised support which focuses on enablement and reflection, so that the individual decides and discovers their required progression themselves.
Often our beliefs about what is possible for ourselves are our only limits........
